Book Review – Dirty Exes (Liars, Inc. #1) by Rachel Van Dyken

Hey lovely readers!

Today’s post is a book review of Dirty Exes by Rachel Van Dyken. I was sent a physical ARC of this book from Skyscape an imprint of Amazon Publishing. All opinions and views in this review are my own. Okay let’s get to the fun stuff!

dirty exes“Blaire has never quite gotten over Jessie Beckett, the ex–NFL star whose kisses were hot enough to ignite the entire Eastern Seaboard. When he chose work over her, Blaire was left brokenhearted. Why else would she have married a skeezy two-timer, just to divorce him less than a year later? Now Blaire is getting even by becoming one half of Dirty Exes, a PI firm fully committed to humiliating cheating jerks. If only the new jerk she’s been hired to uncover wasn’t Jessie Beckett himself. Exposing Jessie isn’t going to be easy, especially when she still daydreams about his sexy smile. Further complicating matters is Colin, Jessie’s best friend. He’s gorgeous, a little bit cunning, and willing to help Blaire get the inside scoop on Jessie—for a price. Now caught between two men—one totally right and the other totally wrong—Blaire will need to decide just how much she’s willing to risk…and whom she’s willing to risk it for.”

So this was my very first Rachel Van Dyken book and OMG I am now officially addicted to her books! Okay about the book. This is a true, full fledged Adult Romance which I absolutely loved! Blaire is 35 and the guys are I think 29 or 30. So fully adult, which was a little different and refreshing for me. First of all this book was just pure fun. Like laugh out loud, recommend to everyone I know fun and the premise was amazing. Okay let’s talk about the characters. We get three different POV’s throughout the story.

Okay so Blaire is a PI with her best friend Isla, they founded the company Dirty Exes. They met after they were both cheated on and want to help other women get revenge. See such a great premise! I freaking love Blair, she’s just so fun and sarcastic and sassy! But she’s stuck on this guy she dated years ago, always holding him to such a high standard. Of course when he comes back into her life, things don’t quite go as planned. And she realizes some things about her life and who she is. But I think what I loved so much about Blair and this story is the view it gives you about cheating. I’ve both cheated and been cheated on and I firmly believe there is always a reason. And that most of the time we only get half the story.

We get two male perspectives in this story. One is Jesse’s, the man whom Blaire has always wanted. And the second is Jesse’s best friend Collin whom helps Blaire catch Jesse in the act of cheating. Now I will not spoil anything, but I will say that I was so happy with how things ended for these three. And I’m really excited to read book number two! Seriously the banter and jokes in this book are so great. I just really love Rachel Van Dyken’s writing. It’s so fresh and fun!

Thanks for reading guys! Talk to you soon! ❤ Adrianna
