10 More Favorite Song Lyrics

Hey lovely readers!

So this post is just something random and fun! I love music, it’s like a window to the soul. Here are some more of my favorite song lyrics!

“Stuck it out this far together. Put our dreams through the shredder. Let’s toast ’cause things got better. And everything could change like that and all these years go by so fast but nothing lasts forever”

A song that reminds me that sometimes life is hard, but that it always gets better. My cousin and I sing this to each other when we’re feeling down. It always does the trick. My favorite version of this is the Glee cover ❤

“If someone said three years from now you’d be long gone. I’d stand up and punch them out ‘Cause they’re all wrong.”

This lyric and this song always takes me back to my first heartbreak. The love I thought would always be there leaving me for someone else. I still cry every time I hear it.

“She laid her heart and soul right in your hands. And you stole her every dream,
and you crushed her plans. She never even knew she had a choice. And that’s what happens when the only voice she hears is telling her she can’t.”
So full disclosure, I have a pretty crappy relationship with my dad. He’s one of those people that makes you feel like you’re never good enough. It took me a very long time to realize that I am good enough despite what he thinks. This song and these lyrics remind me of that ❤
“Oh, you see that skin? It’s the same she’s been standing in. Since the day she saw him walking away. Now she’s left cleaning up the mess he made.”
Another song that explains my relationship with my dad. He’s really never been there and it always feels like he’s breaking my heart. We actually danced to this song at my wedding, because nothing else really fit our relationship.
“It’s no surprise I won’t be here tomorrow. I can’t believe that I stayed till today (stayed till today). Yeah you and I will be a tough act to follow. But I know in time we’ll find this was no surprise.”
When you know a relationship isn’t right and you have to learn to let go. I think we can all relate to this one ❤
“You used to be the girl that set the world on fire. And they drenched your soul in water but the flames reached higher. Used to act so tough like you could walk on a wire and they called you devil’s daughter, such a pretty liar.”
This one takes me back to summers, crazy fun summers during my high school years. I felt wild and reckless and free. Some of the best nights of my life 🙂 Nobody could hold me back then.

“Children waiting for the day, they feel good happy birthday, happy birthday. Made to feel the way that every child should. Sit and listen, sit and listen. Went to school and I was very nervous. No one knew me, no one knew me. Hello teacher, tell me what’s my lesson. Look right through me, look right through me.”

This whole song really is just eerily beautiful. And it has so many lessons hidden within the lyrics ❤ The cover from Riverdale is my absolute favorite.

“Shout out to my ex, you’re really quite the man. You made my heart break and that made me who I am. Here’s to my ex, hey, look at me now. Well, I, I’m all the way up I swear you’ll never bring me down”

Literally a song for every person that has an asshole ex. It just such a powerful lyric that helps you remember that no one can bring you down.

“I remember when I first met you, sipping coffee in a corner booth. You were twirling your hair and I just had to stare for a minute or two. I was laughing at your stack of books then you shot me that smile. Hey beautiful girl, in your own little world and me in it.”

Hubs says these lyrics and the song remind him of me ❤

“Cause you don’t know him like I do. You’ll never understand. You don’t know what we’ve been through. That boy’s my best friend. And there’s no way you’re gonna help me. He’s the only one who can.”

I love the Julia Sheer version of this song. It reminds me so much of me and hubs!
