Recommendation Wednesday – New Adult Romances: College

Hey lovely readers!

Today’s post is a list of my favorite new adult college romances! My favorite books to read are new adult romances and so I wanted to give the genre a little love. Because there are so many to choose from: college, office, angsty, dark, sports, etc I’m splitting up the recommendations based on type. So look out for my recs of each type every Wednesday from now on! Lets get started! (FYI these are only a few of my favorites, I could add so many more. So if none of these interest you feel free to contact me for other options!)

1. Price of a Kiss by Linda Kage (Forbidden Men# 1)17833099

“I don’t care what my cousin says; I am not the queen of impossible relationships. I mean, just because my last boyfriend tried to kill me and left a bit of a scar on my neck, then forced me to move across the country and legally change my name to Reese Randall to escape him, does not mean—
Oh, who am I kidding? For a freshman in college, I have to have the worst dating track record ever.
It’s no wonder love is the last thing on my mind when Mason Lowe enters my life. But the chemistry between us is like bam! Our connection defies logic. And he’s just so freaking hot. Being around him makes me feel more alive than I’ve ever felt before. I even like bickering with him. He could be my soul mate…except for one teeny tiny glitch.
He’s a gigolo.
Boy, do I know how to pick them.”

This one takes place takes place at a college in Florida and I think both of the characters are freshman or maybe the guys a sophomore. Anyway, the story is pretty unique! I mean the guys a gigolo! But it’s actually really sweet and deals with some pretty heavy stuff in a great way. Plus I love the relationship between Reese and Mason’s sister (who’s disabled), it’s super adorable! It is technically apart of a series, but it’s one of those series where the books are sort of standalone. So you don’t have to read the next ones, I haven’t yet! But I plan to.

2. Losing It by Cora Carmack (Losing It #1)16034964

“Sick of being the only virgin among her friends, Bliss Edwards decides the best way to deal with the problem is to lose it as quickly and simply as possible – a one-night stand. But her plan turns out to be anything but simple when she freaks out and leaves a gorgeous guy alone and naked in her bed with an excuse that no one with half-a-brain would ever believe. And as if that weren’t embarrassing enough, when she arrives for her first class of her last college semester, she recognizes her new theatre professor. She’d left him naked in her bed about 8 hours earlier.”

Another standalone/series one! I really loved this one and fun fact it was originally a Twilight fanfic hahaha! But it’s a really fun and funny read. Plus I love that the guy ends up being her teacher and of course they try to fight their attraction, but when does that ever work? The dude is British I think, which I absolutely love. And Bliss is just ridiculous, in the best way. This when is unique to me because both characters are involved in theater, which was fun to read about. Bliss is a senior in college and the guy is a few years out of college. Definitely a fun read!

3. More Than Series by Jay McLeanMore Than This

“For every action there is an equal or opposite reaction.”
For every choice you make there are rewards,
or there are consequences.
It was my choice to walk away the first time. And my choice to chase her the second. But sometimes you don’t get a choice,  and all you get are the consequences.
“Being deeply loved by someone gives you strength,
while loving someone deeply gives you courage.”
Unless that someone is Logan Matthews. Because loving him didn’t give me the strength to walk away. It didn’t give me the courage to fight for him. And when it was over, all it gave me was a broken heart.

If you guys have been following my blog or Twitter than you know that I’m obsessed with this author and this series. It’s my all time favorite, it’s amazing and beautiful and heart breaking. It’s everything. There are 5 books in this series about 4 different couples, all good friends. Books 2 and 3 are about the same couple (those are my favorite).  And you don’t have to read them all to get what’s happening, but other characters do make appearances. The first book doesn’t take place in college, rather the summer before, but the rest of the series is set primarily in college. This series seriously has everything you could want. But what really got me hooked was the amazing friendships between the characters, especially the unlikely ones. Their crazy antics and fun pranks really lightens the mood, because these books are pretty darn emotional. Seriously if you only pick one thing from this list please let it be this series. It’s what got me hooked on new adult romance.

4. Hate to Love You by Tijan34853951

Rule #1: No hot guys.
It might sound ridiculous. I get it. It kind of is, but college was supposed to be my sanctuary. It was my place to start over. The rumors, the whispers, and the jealousy I endured through high school would all be gone. No one would know me at college.
Rule #2: No drama. I’d major in pre-law. I’d make a few loyal friends. Everything would be easy breezy. No one was going to use me or hurt me. I wouldn’t let them. Rule #3: New year. New place. New me. Right? Wrong. And all because of Shay Coleman. Football captain and quarterback, he was the big guy on campus. The cocky guy in my political science class with a smirk. I hated him on sight . . .
. . . and he was about to break all my rules.”

So this one I actually read because of the author and I had no idea what it was about. Tijan wrote the Fallen Crest Series, which I love. It almost got included here, but half the series takes place in high school even though it is very new adult! You should definitely check those out! But anyone, with this one the girl is a freshman and the guy is I think a junior. It has your typical college stuff, parties, football games, classroom scenes, talks about your major, etc. Honestly when I thought it was a hate to love story I was like nope, because I’m not a huge fan of those. But this one I loved, because they don’t really hate each other. It’s more like a “man I don’t want to like you but I do” kind of thing. It’s fairly lengthy, but the story definitely carries itself. And enough happens over the course of the book to keep it interesting, lots of fun surprises!

5. My Best Friend’s Ex by Meghan Quinn35004715

“When I found an eviction notice taped on my apartment door, I had two options: find a comfortable cardboard box to call home, or move in with Tucker Jameson.
Seeing that cardboard makes me feel itchy, I chose the latter. Which shouldn’t be that big of a deal Tucker is one of my good friends. And because he’s still pining after his ex-girlfriend and I’m trying to finish my nursing degree, there is nothing to worry about in the romance department, making my last semester an easy one to conquer.
Boy, was I wrong. Rules are set, dinners are made, conversations are had, and a shirtless, swoony roommate walks around in nothing but a pair of black briefs, ruining me for every other man. Before I know it, I turn into a panting, lust-filled woman begging for Tucker to kiss me, touch me, and show me exactly what is hiding under those briefs. But with great orgasms, comes great consequences. Tucker might be my friend and roommate but he’s also my best friend’s ex-boyfriend, making him completely off-limits. At least that’s what my brain is telling me, my heart is speaking an entirely different language.”

Another standalone/series one! A hidden gem for sure! The guy isn’t in college, I think he works in construction or something. But the girl is in nursing school, so college-esque. But I loved it, so I had to include it! Something pretty heavy happened to the guy, but it’s something that normally is seen from a woman’s perspective. So that was really interesting to read about. And of course the girl is conflicted because she watched her best friend’s relationship with this guy fall apart, though she has no idea what really happened. This one’s a mix of heartwarming and heartbreaking moments. But as always with my book recs has a happy ending!

That’s my list guys! Thanks for reading! Talk to you soon! ❤ Adrianna
