Book Review – When Forever Changes by Siobhan Davis

Hey lovely readers!

Here’s another book review for you!

when forever changesGabby
Looking back, I should have seen the signs. Perhaps I did, but I subconsciously chose to ignore them.
From the time I was ten, when I first met Dylan, I knew he was my forever guy. Back then, I couldn’t put words to what I was feeling, but, as the years progressed, I came to recognize it for what it was—soul-deep love. The kind only very few people ever get to experience.
Dylan was more than just my best friend, my childhood sweetheart, my lover. He was my soul mate. We were carved from the same whole—destined to be together forever.
Until he changed. And I believed I was no longer good enough. Until he shattered me so completely, it felt like I ceased to exist.  And I’d never experienced such heart-crushing pain. Until he leveled me a second time, and I truly wanted to die.
But I had to stay strong because I wasn’t alone in this cruel twist of fate.
I look to the sky, pleading with the stars, begging someone to tell me what I should do because I don’t know how to deal with this. I don’t know how to cope when my forever has changed, and I can’t help wondering if I had seen the signs earlier, if I’d pushed him, would it have been enough to save us?
Or had fate already decided to alter our forever?”

Let me just wipe the tears from my face so I can see what I’m writing. Seriously this book was brutally beautiful. I had no idea that this story was going to go the way it did. I had no idea how this was going to end, and I’m equal parts awed and heartbroken. I adore Siobhan Davis and I absolutely loved this book. This is a hard review for me to write for two reasons. Number one, it’s hard not to give anything away. And number two, the subject matter in this book affected me on a very personal level, because I’ve been there.

When your forever changes, how do you go on? Gabby and Dylan are totally meant to be. I fell completely in love with these two and their nearly perfect relationship. But the thing that tears them apart is so brutal, so unexpected. There were so many amazing elements to this book. There’s love, angst, hate, tragedy, humor, and a bit of a love triangle. It really has everything that makes a great romance book. This book broke my heart and honestly I was so angry, because I kept thinking how could this happen? Why would this happen to Gabby and Dylan? They didn’t deserve it. But that’s the brilliance of this book. your forever can change in an instant. Nothing is promised and I love how this book portrayed real life tragedy in such an honest way.

But I also loved seeing Gabby pull herself back up again, I was so proud of her. She shows such strength and grace in the face of heartbreak. I absolutely loved where the story ended up. And I thought it was beautiful the way in which Gabby moved on with her life. I won’t say what happens, or who ends up together, but I will say that it made my heart so happy. This story is beautiful and it deserves all the praise.

Thanks for reading guys! Talk to you soon! ❤ Adrianna
