Hey lovely readers!
Here’s a book review for you!
“I was twelve years old when I fell in love with Piper Kelley. Even at the age of eight, she was everything I wasn’t: brave, bold, and beautiful.
The night of my college graduation party, I finally made my move, but Piper only had eyes for one man—my younger brother.
With a battered heart, I left for Vegas, determined to put her behind me. But eight years later, fate proved once again that it had never cared about my plans.
Now, I’m back home, and determined not to fall into the same trap I spent the majority of my adolescence trying to escape.
But when Piper finds herself at the risk of losing her medical license, I realize just how far I’m willing to go to protect her.
I was twelve when Piper Kelley became mine.
It’s time I let her know.”
So first of all I love this cover! I love when you can actually see faces on a book cover, not just obligatory bare chest haha. But seriously, I really loved this book. Anything that’s a childhood friends to lovers instantly catches my attention. This book had so much depth and so much feeling packed into it. I really wasn’t expecting that. I also really loved the “knight in shining armor” thing that Lawson had going on throughout the book.
And seriously, lets just take a moment to appreciate Lawson in all his amazing glory. He’s kind of perfect, in a not perfect way if that makes sense? Basically he’s as close to perfect as possible. I don’t think there’s anything he wouldn’t do for Piper. The angst in this book was no freaking joke. I mean you’re in love with a girl who’s in love with your brother. Just ouch. Honestly Piper got on my nerves a bit, because I just wanted her to realize how awesome Lawson was. I totally yelled at her a bunch while I was reading haha.
I found this book to be so well written. The author has a voice that really shines. The story was well paced and I was so impressed by the depth of emotion conveyed by the main characters. And that ending was just perfect! If you’re looking for a new romance to devour, definitely get this one. I flew through it!
Thanks for reading guys! Talk to you soon! ❤ Adrianna
