Book Review – Until It Fades by K.A. Tucker

Hey lovely readers!

Here’s a book review for you!

Until It Fades.jpg“Twenty-four-year-old truck stop waitress and single mother Catherine Wright has simple goals: to give her five-year-old daughter a happy life and to never again be the talk of the town in Balsam, Pennsylvania: population two thousand outside of tourist season.

And then one foggy night, on a lonely road back from another failed attempt at a relationship, Catherine saves a man’s life. It isn’t until after the police have arrived that Catherine realizes exactly who it is she has saved: Brett Madden, hockey icon and media darling.

Catherine has already had her fifteen minutes of fame and the last thing she wants is to have her past dragged back into the spotlight, only this time on a national stage. So she hides her identity. It works. For a time. But when she finds the man she saved standing on her doorstep, desperate to thank her, all that changes. What begins as an immediate friendship quickly turns into something neither of them expected. Something that Catherine isn’t sure she can handle; something that Catherine is afraid to trust.

Because how long can an extraordinary man like Brett be interested in an ordinary woman like Catherine…before the spark fades?”

Alright so, this book is pretty much just pure fluff and goodness. And I’m not mad at it! 😉 This is the second K.A. Tucker book I’ve read and I’ve decided that I absolutely love her writing. She’s definitely about the romance, but I feel like her books have so much depth to them. The story is actually about the people, not just the romantic element. And it’s really not about sex. I love smut as much as anyone, the more the better. But with this book it’s about the building and establishing of a relationship.

Catherine hasn’t made the best decisions in her life. But when it really counts, she makes a decision that saves a life. This book was just so well written, like I said, it’s total fluff and cuteness. And often books like that don’t have too much depth. But this one contains a great story that completely fits with all of the fluff without feeling cheesy or forced. Catherine and Brett were both really great characters that were both easy to relate to in their own ways.

I also really loved the lack of drama in this story. I love drama and angst so much, but sometimes it is nice to have a little break from that. I’ve been in a bit of a reading slump and this book did the trick to pull me out of it. There’s still drama here, but it’s not overdone. Also I feel like there aren’t even good, realistic single parent stories out there, so this one fits the bill. And the daughter is just plain adorable haha. So definitely give this one a try if you’re looking for a bit of a lighter read.

Thanks for reading guys! Talk to you soon! ❤ Adrianna

  1. They are genres that I love all the time in any shape and for. Horror, yes. Thriller, please thank you. But as for romance, it’s really seasonal for me but this looks like a story that will connect no matter what. Nice review.
