“Wanted: one hot guy with rock-hard abs and a big stick.
Broke and desperate, Sugar Ryan has no use for arrogant, bad boy athletes . . . until she’s forced to bargain with the cockiest of them all. If only he knew she was alive.
Her mission? Get on this hockey player’s radar any way possible.
Zack Morgan is the king of the ice and the bedroom—but nothing prepares him for the mystery girl who shows up everywhere he does—frat parties, his favorite bar, and finally his front door with an offer he can’t refuse. The only rule in her boyfriend bargain: no falling in love.
But after one (um, two) smoking-hot hookups, he’s done with pretending and vows to make their fake relationship real. Too bad she can’t trust a player with a reputation for breaking hearts. Will this hockey star score his forever girl or will their Boyfriend Bargain end in heartbreak?”
Oh I absolutely loved this book! Ilsa Madden-Mills does unexpected pairings so freaking well! Massive thank you to Social Butterfly PR for providing me with an e-ARC.
I love me a sports romance, they’re one of my favorite types of romances. Plus I’ve been so into hockey romances as well and this one had both, so yes please. The chemistry between the two main characters is spot on as per usual with an Ilsa book. Sugar and Z are one of my new favorite pairings. Let me just tell you why I fell so in love with these two! The book starts with Sugar sort of spying on Z, which is freaking hilarious. And I freaking loved how chill he was about the whole thing. This book definitely had the funny factor along with some drama, sadness, and of course awesome sexy scenes.
Sugar and Z are such interesting characters. Z especially touched my heart because a big part of his story is that he is dealing with diagnosed anxiety. I feel like not many sports romances give their male characters mental illness to deal with. I thought this was so refreshing. And then Sugar is just so funny and quirky I love her so much. She is quite the dedicated bad-ass who is really trying to make a better life for herself. Fake relationships are always such a fun trope and I think this one has such fun and unique elements. But my 100% favorite part of this whole book was that Z and Sugar both screwed up at some point in their relationship. It wasn’t just boy screws up and make amends. No, Sugar is just as guilty as Z is.
This story had all of these great elements and I absolutely loved it! Ilsa always knows how to write a great story! Definitely pick this one up if you love sports romances, hockey romances, or the fake relationship trope. This one does all three perfectly!
Thanks for reading guys! Talk to you soon! ❤ Adrianna
