Book Review – Teardrop Shot by Tijan

Hey lovely readers!

Long time, no see. Here’s a book review for you. Thanks a bunch to the lovely Tijan for providing an e-arc.

Teardrop ShotI asked for his criteria for bed buddies-that’s the PG version. He swore at me and said he didn’t do groupies. And just like that, our friendship was off to a great start.
Reese Forster was the starting point guard for the Seattle Thunder.
Gorgeous. Cocky. Loved by the nation. He’s also attending preseason basketball training camp where I used to work. Correction: where I work again, because I was fired from my last job. And dumped.
And I might have a tiny bit of baggage, but that’s normal. Right? Reese and I shouldn’t have become friends. We shouldn’t have become roommates. And we really shouldn’t have started sleeping together … (Except we did.) I’m adorably psychotic. He’s in the NBA.
This is not a disaster waiting to happen, at all.

The synopsis for this one did not prepare me for the beautiful story contained within this book. I was expecting this fun and light sports romance. And while this story does have those elements it also delivers a powerful emotional punch. It was a really wonderful surprise to be able to connect with these two main characters. These two MC’s are one of the best matched pairs I’ve come across in a romance book, and that is saying something.

I definitely don’t want to spoil the story, so I’ll just say that the connection between Reese and Charlie was kind of perfect. I absolutely loved Reese, he’s just adorably broody and sexy. Because of course any good romance book needs an excellent Hero. As always Tijan has written some amazing smut filled scenes, which we all know are my absolute favorite. I will say that Charlie as a character was a lot to take in. Her personality was pretty all over the place, bouncing from one topic to the next pretty quickly and sometimes she was hard to follow. Though in a way I did appreciate her uniqueness as a character, because I’ve definitely not seen another female main character like her.

I was seriously blown away by this story. You think you know where it’s headed and how you’ll feel when it’s over. But let me just tell you that things will not go the way you expect. It broke my heart and truthfully I’m still not over it a week after finishing the book. Tijan delivers another amazing story that will leave you breathless.

Thanks for reading guys! Talk to you soon! ❤ Adrianna
