Hey lovely readers!
Here’s a book review for you! Huge thank you to Jay for providing me with an ARC of this one. It was absolutely perfect.
“Ava Diaz needs saving.
She just doesn’t know it yet.
Just like she doesn’t know a thing about the boy she sits next to on the first day of senior year.
He thinks she’s a brat.
She thinks he’s entitled.
Maybe first impressions don’t always last…
Because Connor Ledger’s about to save her.
He just doesn’t know why.”
An absolutely excellent ending to this beautiful duet. I had been waiting on the edge of my seat for this book after I finished book number one a few weeks ago. As soon as I got my hands on this one I finished it in only a few hours. To say I loved it would be a gross understatement.
Ava and Connor went through hell in the first book and neither of them really made it out unscathed. What I loved about book two is that things weren’t automatically fixed, their problems didn’t just disappear. They both acknowledge their own issues and how that affects their relationship. And yet they are constantly keeping this from each other because they want to protect the other person. They both believe that is what love means.
Without giving too much away, this book focuses on Ava and Connor as individuals trying to figure out who they are while dealing with their individual past traumas. It is a really beautiful conclusion to the emotional journey these two characters have been on. I loved seeing their relationship change and evolve whether they were together or apart. They both keep one another in their hearts and minds, working towards healing and becoming better people. Along with all of the angst and drama and heartache there is also love, hope, laughter, and amazing family dynamics. Another amazing story by Jay McLean, I loved it so much and absolutely recommend it.
Thanks for reading guys! Talk to you soon! ❤ Adrianna
