Hey lovely readers!
Here’s a book review for you! I read and reviewed this one last year. But hey, it’s November 9th so I’m sharing it again. I loved this one!
“Fallon meets Ben, an aspiring novelist, the day before her scheduled cross-country move. Their untimely attraction leads them to spend Fallon’s last day in L.A. together, and her eventful life becomes the creative inspiration Ben has always sought for his novel. Over time and amidst the various relationships and tribulations of their own separate lives, they continue to meet on the same date every year. Until one day Fallon becomes unsure if Ben has been telling her the truth or fabricating a perfect reality for the sake of the ultimate plot twist.
Can Ben’s relationship with Fallon—and simultaneously his novel—be considered a love story if it ends in heartbreak?”
This book. This book was truly phenomenal. A good author takes you from love to hate, happiness to anger within a few pages. Because that’s lie, up to down in minutes, unpredictable. And I loved that so much about this story. I don’t know that I’ll ever be able to forget this story and I can’t tell you how happy that makes me. It’s one of those that definitely sticks with you. So the story is about the relationship between Ben and Fallon and the fact that they decide to only meet up once a year.
Honestly it was so intense and unique and mesmerizing. The book gives you so much insight into how much one year can really change a person. Fallon was the victim of personal tragedy and of course Ben has a secret as well. But when the two of them are together it’s like they can both breathe again. I found it so incredible that I could be so invested in a relationship where the two people aren’t really together. And it was so true in this case that two people don’t have to be together for a love story to have a happy ending. I absolutely loved that these two souls saved each other. So before I continue with the review I want to put in a side note.
As a child I was pretty broken. I went through some very traumatic things and I felt like I was barely surviving most day once I hit adulthood. Then I met my husband and I can say with 100% certainty that he saved my life, he helped me to heal myself, made me strong, and I would not be who I am today without him. That’s why I love stories like Ben and Fallon’s. I wanted to put that in here to make it clear that stories in which the characters save each other are just as important and just as beautiful as the ones in which the character saves themselves. Okay back to the review 😉
This book makes you feel all the feels. One minute you love been and then you hate him. In one chapter Fallon makes you proud and the next she’s pissing you off. And these two together are so up and down. But I loved this so much, because that’s real life. No relationship is perfect and things can change in an instant and I think this book really highlights that fact. It’s truly a unique love story and I’m so excited to be able to share it with all of you. I hope you love it as much as I did.
Thanks for reading guys! Talk to you soon! ❤ Adrianna
