Hey lovely readers!
It’s that time again! Just fyi these are my favorite books I read this year, they were not all released this year though. (These are in order from least favorite to most).
10. A Curse So Dark and Lonely by Brigid Kemmerer
I remember when everyone kept asking me if I was going to read this, because the main character has Cerebral Palsy like I do. And I was honestly terrified about how it would be handled. But I’m so proud of this book and how amazing Harper is. I loved it! Find my full review here.
9. Kill Switch by Penelope Douglas
I just read this whole series earlier this year and now I’m obsessed. But this book (third in the series) is my favorite. Basically the “villain” in the first two is now the main focus. And honestly I expected to keep hating him. But of course I fell in love instead. Because as we all know, I’m a sucker for a damaged, angry, slightly crazy bad boy. Find my review here.
8. The Whisper Man by Alex North
I definitely jumped on the bandwagon with this one. Everyone seemed to be reading it, so I had to give it a go. And I devoured it haha. I love mystery thrillers. Plus anything that features serial killers. Yes freaking please. I’m slightly obsessed. 😂 This book was so well done!
7. Say You Still Love Me by K.A. Tucker
After reading The Simple Wild by K.A. Tucker (my favorite book of all time). I fell in love with anything by this author. But this was another special one for me. It reminded me of my summers spent at camp. And falling in love for the first time. Find my review here.
6. Boyfriend Bargain by Ilsa Madden-Mills
I’m absolute trash for fake boyfriend tropes. Like I could read them all day every day. So when I say this is my favorite I mean it, because I’ve done the leg work. 😂 This book is hilarious, sweet, with the perfect amount of angst. Plus the girl main characters name is my favorite ever! Find my review here.
5. The Queen of Nothing by Holly Black
Oh my gosh I freaking loved this book! This whole trilogy was amazing, but this was the best of them. I loved how everything was wrapped up. The crazy twists thrown in, and we finally got to see Cardan for the soft, sweet baby angel I always knew he was. Find my full review here.
4. A Place Without You by Jewel E. Ann
This one destroyed me. I can’t remember the last time a book made me cry so hard. Basically boy meets girl, they both have devastating secrets, they shouldn’t be together. Life breaks them. I honestly didn’t see things going the way they did. And the story arc of the dad was so heartbreaking. This is a truly beautiful story. Find my review here.
3. In the Unlikely Event by L.J. Shen
An unexpected and completely amazing story. Honestly the funniest and most unique read of the year. I mean I got to read the point of view of a napkin. 😂 Best thing ever! Mal was gorgeous and devastating. Rory was so strong and so unique. Absolutely loved it! Find my review here.
2. Cruel Intentions by Siobhan Davis
I picked the first book of this trilogy for this list. But really all three books should be here, because they’re phenomenal. I was lucky enough to get ARCs of all three and I read them within hours. I’ve never read a story like this one. I was always on the edge of my seat and the twists blew my freaking mind. Plus the main MCs are now one of my favorite book couples! Find my review here.
1. Pretty Reckless by L.J. Shen
My absolute favorite book of 2019! It’s everything I never knew I wanted in a book. And it now holds a special place in my heart. 💜 I could go on and on, but I think I’ve said it all. Find my review here.
Thanks for reading guys! Talk to you soon! ❤ Adrianna
